NON-RESIDENT STUDENTS

Please visit here to see the '24-25 LOTTERY WAITLIST

Non-resident students may apply for Dixie Canyon through the Charter, which means that applications are placed into and selected through a lottery system (see below for more information on Lottery Preferences and Procedures).  Siblings of Dixie Canyon students will have priority (see below for Sibling Priority qualifications).  Once all available openings are filled, remaining applications will be placed onto a waitlist.

The seven-week On-Time Application Window is from October 2, 2023 - November 17, 2023 at 5pm.

Late applications will be accepted online beginning Feb. 1, 2024 - Sept. 16, 2024. Late applications are placed at the end of the waitlist.

SIBLING PRIORITY

Siblings wanting to attend Dixie Canyon for the first time will receive priority status if:

  • the Choices application for the new sibling was submitted during the On-Time Application Window AND
  • an older sibling was admitted through the charter in previous years and will still be attending Dixie Canyon in the '24-'25 school year OR
  • an older sibling enrolled due to being in the Dixie Canyon attendance area and will still be attending Dixie Canyon in the '24-'25 school year, but subsequently moved out of the area

If you were previously in the Dixie Canyon attendance area, moved out of area and are enrolling a sibling for the first time, YOU MUST COMPLETE A CHOICES APPLICATION, even though you did not have to do so for the older sibling.

Please note, if you have a Dixie Canyon alum or your student is culminating in June 2024 and no other sibling is attending Dixie Canyon in the '24-'25 school year, the new sibling will NOT HAVE PRIORITY STATUS.

LOTTERY PREFERENCES & PROCEDUREs

Siblings, as outlined above, will have priority in being selected to attend.  After that, applicants will be selected through a lottery for all available seats.  Those not selected for admission during the lottery shall be placed on a waitlist in the same priority order as above. As seats become available, Dixie Canyon Community Charter will fill the seats from the waitlist. This waitlist shall be effective until the end of the programmatic year to which it pertains.

During the month of February, after receiving the list of interested applicants from Unified Enrollment, Admin will conduct its public random drawing (lottery) for non-resident boundary students only, if applicable.

Gaurdians of applicants being offered admission through the lottery will be notified in writing by email or mail, depending on the method of application submission within one month following the lottery, and will be provided three weeks to accept the offered seat.

Non-resident boundary students who apply for admission after the On-Time application window will be added to the bottom of the waitlist in the order in which their applications are received. Choices Late Applications are processed on a first come, first-served basis beginning February 1, 2024 through norm day of the following school year.

Dixie Canyon will contact waitlisted and late applicants.  There is no need to call the office to find out of your child has been offered a spot.
